Here’s the plan
A clear process is key to a successful project. On this page, you’ll find details on the four main phases of a project, so you know exactly what to expect along the way.
-
Onboarding
After receiving your enquiry through my contact form, I’ll give it a look over and decide whether the project seems like it could be a good fit. If so, I’ll be back in touch shortly to arrange an introductory meeting, where we’ll get to know each other a little and run through the details of your enquiry. This allows me to gain a better understanding of your business, clarify what you’re after, and get a sense of the overall scope of the project.
Following this meeting, I’ll take some time to reflect on everything we discussed and come to a decision on whether I’d like to take your project on. If the answer is yes, I’ll send over a project proposal for you to review, outlining the scope of work, timeline, pricing, and some other key information.
-
Project Setup
Once you’ve approved the project proposal, there will be a few things to complete. First, I’ll send over a contract for you to sign, ensuring we both know what to expect from each other throughout the course of the project. Next, I’ll provide a deposit invoice, which must be paid for 50% of the total project cost. Finally, there will be a discovery questionnaire to complete, which, once filled out, will serve as a detailed brief for the project.
When all three steps are completed, we’ll be fully prepared and ready to get the project underway properly on the given start date.
-
Design
The design phase begins with an in-depth analysis of your brief, followed by thorough research into your business, industry, competitors, and target audience. Next, I’ll generate as many ideas as possible for the logo design, exploring various directions until I’ve exhausted all creative routes. From there, I’ll review the concepts and select the most effective and appropriate option for your brand. The chosen design will then be refined until it feels complete.
Once ready, I’ll present the logo to you in a detailed presentation, walking you through the concept and explaining why it’s the right fit. You’ll then have the opportunity to provide feedback, which I’ll use to amend the design until you’re ready to finalise.
For logo design projects, once the logo is signed off, I’ll prepare a logo usage guide. For visual identity projects, the next step will be to develop a broader visual identity, including the colour palette, typography system, graphic elements, and more. The identity will be presented to you for feedback and then refined further until you’ve signed it off. Finally, I’ll put together the brand guidelines, bringing us to the end of the design phase.
-
Completion
Once the design phase is complete and the project is fully signed off, I’ll send over the final invoice. Then, when the remaining 50% of the total project cost has been received, I’ll compile and deliver the final files. These will be organised in an easy-to-navigate folder system, containing all the essential industry standard file types you could possibly need.
At this point, I’ll set up an offboarding meeting where we’ll go over a few final details and bring the project to a close. From there, you’ll be all set to put your new branding into action and let your brand shine.
